Career Counseling: Choosing a Career
If you're experiencing uncertainty about your career options, this is the place to start. The UNO Counseling and Career Center offers Career Counseling for currently enrolled UNO students. Utilizing a combination of interviews, specialized assessments and career exploration assignments, career counselors assist students in identifying and clarifying their personal and professional goals, areas of interest, career-related personality traits and other factors which influence job choice and contribute to job satisfaction. Students can then make informed decisions about their futures.

So you've settled on a career and you're about to graduate. Now what? Finding gainful employment in one's field of choice can be a daunting task, especially for a first time job-seeker. Résumés must be written, cover letters created, interview questions prepared, and even interview-appropriate attire selected. The UNO Counseling and Career Center can assist with all of these objectives. We can help you select verbiage so your resume will wow potential employers. We can conduct mock interviews and role plays to help you make a great first impression. We can even offer pointers regarding appropriate dress and behavior during and even after interviews. And when you're ready to start looking for your dream job, you can access the Opportunities Database or attend one of our career fairs and on-campus recruiting events to help you with your search.
