Reciprocal Services Through Career Development

The UNO Office of Career Development provides reciprocal services for students from other institutions and we also process requests for students/alumni looking to use services at another institution outside New Orleans. Listed below you will find useful and important polices regarding Reciprocal Services from the UNO Office of Career Development.

UNO Students Wishing to Use Another Career Center's Services:
All UNO students and alumni can request for a recirprocal letter be written on their behalf to be sent to a univeristy or college in the United States or abroad. UNO students and alumni must follow the guidelines below to request Reciprocal Services:
1. UNO Students and Alumni must complete a Reciprocal Request Form and included information for each institution you are requesting service from. The form must be signed and fully-completed and then either faxed or mailed to the Office of Career Development.
2. Reciprocal requests will not be created for institutions in the city of New Orleans
3. UNO Students and Alumni understand that the requested institution may decline the request or limit access to services and resources (e.g. On Campus Interviews, Appointments with career counselors).
4. UNO Students and alumni must be fully registered with UNO Career Development to have requests granted.

Students from other institutions requesting services:

Policy on Reciprocity
The UNO Office of Career Development grants reciprocal use of select career services to degree candidates and graduates of other colleges and universities under the conditions stated below:

Conditions of Reciprocity:

A letter requesting reciprocity must be submitted from the home institution's career services office that the candidate/alumnus attends that institution. (The letter must list the requester's name, date of graduation, degree, and academic major and current academic status)

A statement that offers reciprocal use of career services to University of New Orleans students/alumni must also be included. This statement must outline what services will be available to University of New Orleans students/ alumni.

Access to the vacancy listing in the Opportunities Database
Use of the Career Library and career information materials
Website services
Workshops and seminars
Resume critique.

Reciprocal Services NOT Available:
Participation in On Campus Recruiting
