Career Fairs & Events

UNO Career Services sponsors or co-sponsors all career days and job fairs at the University of New Orleans. These events are intended to provide employers and students with an opportunity to meet on the "grand scale." Students are encouraged to attend career fairs and related events to explore the variety of opportunities available for training and employment. Employers are encouraged to attend at least one career fair per year as a means of fostering and maintaining awareness about their organizations. Listed below is information about our annual career fairs and similar events.


Workshops
UNO Career Services hosts a variety of workshops each semester to assist students with résumé preparation, networking, interview skills, business etiquette, and other career-related skills. Part-Time/On Campus Job Fair (a.k.a. FreshFest)
The Part-Time/On-Campus Job Fair (FreshFest) is held at the beginning of the fall semester and is usually associated with Welcome Week. FreshFest is a great opportunity for part-time job seekers and employers to meet and explore employment opportunities. This event is casual and usually held outside, so job-seekers and employers are encouraged to dress casually and comfortably.

Fall Career Expo
The Fall Career Expo will be held in the world-class, world-renowned, Louisiana Superdome. This magnificent structure is home to the Super Bowl XLIV Champions, the New Orleans Saints! This year's Expo is co-hosted by the Career Services offices of Dillard University, Loyola University New Orleans, Southern University of New Orleans, Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business, The University of New Orleans and Xavier University of Louisiana. Announcements and additional iformation will be forthcoming. Mardi Gras Invitational Career Fair
The Mardi Gras Invitational (MGI) Career Fair is a two day event typically held two weeks prior to Mardi Gras day. Sponsored by Dillard University, Loyola University New Orleans, Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Southern University New Orleans, Tulane University, University of New Orleans, and Xavier University Louisiana, it is the LARGEST career event in New Orleans. Drawing over 1200 students and alumni each year, MGI is one of the best ways for area students and alumni, and employers to meet.

New Orleans Citywide Teacher Fair
The New Orleans Teacher Fair provides an opportunity for schools and school districts to recruit education majors and others interested in careers in education. The event is held in the spring only and normally is hosted by the University of New Orleans. This event is a consortium event and is sponsored by all of the colleges and universities in New Orleans.
